Does Strong Will follow from Stron Desire naturally ?

Also Guna, Karma and Choice – Is making a choice dependent on strong will or strong desire

Will is spiritual, and desire can be material or spiritual. To control material desire, we need a strong will. But that strong will is also based on another desire called the spiritual desire. If we practice spiritual life, then our spiritual desire also increases gradually. That automatically increases the willpower to control the material desire. If we don’t practice, then we cannot get more willpower.

Is Choice (as in the Karma+Guna+Choice)  = Free will and how does the strength of our will drive our choices of right/true/good. Am I correct to understand that the stronger spiritual desire leads to strong will which leads to us making  the right/good/true choices. This then creates a virtuous cycle which is hierarchial spiral, the breadth and depth of choices we make progressively have both higher and deeper impact on our lives

By strong will, you can reject the enticements of material desire. The soul in the material condition is like a paśu or animal being dragged by a pāśa or rope, by the influence of time called Paśupati. The pāśa is the habits of thinking and behaving formed in the past. These trigger desires in you based on the effect of time. Everyone is controlled by their own past. To change your life, you have to form new habits. To form new habits you have to develop a strong will to fight currently habits. And that power to fight the past habits, and form new habits, you have to begin with a spiritual practice. As you practice, slowly you will be able to fight the habits of thinking and action better.
